  • preferences (e.g. favourite artists)

3. Why we process your data

We use your data primarily to provide you with the best possible festival experience:

  • informing you about the programme and updates
  • sending newsletters and marketing communications
  • personalising content
  • improving our website, app, and services
  • analysing user behaviour and traffic
  • ensuring security and technical operation

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data in accordance with applicable laws, based on:

  • performance of a contract (e.g. use of the mobile app or participation in competitions)
  • legitimate interest (e.g. improving services or basic marketing)
  • consent (e.g. newsletters, cookies, notifications, location data)

You may withdraw your consent at any time.

5. Data retention period

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • newsletter: until you unsubscribe
  • marketing: up to several years from your last activity
  • analytical and technical data: typically for several months
  • user account in the app: for the duration of the account

After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.

6. Data sharing

To operate the festival and our services, we cooperate with trusted partners. Some personal data may therefore be processed by:

  • Google LLC (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (e.g. Facebook and Instagram advertising)
  • Ecomail.cz, s.r.o. (email marketing and newsletters)
  • GoOut s.r.o. (ticketing services, if applicable)

We may also use:

  • hosting and IT service providers
  • tools for website and app management

We always ensure that your data is handled securely and in compliance with applicable laws.

7. Cookies and online tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to:

  • ensure proper website functionality

8. Processing of personal data in the mobile application

The United Islands mobile app is designed to help you navigate the festival, personalise your programme, and enhance your overall experience.

What data we process:

  • email address (when registering)
  • data from third-party login (Apple, Google, Facebook)
  • favourite artists and user preferences
  • activity within the app (e.g. challenges, badges)
  • technical data (device, IP address, logs)
  • data for push notifications
  • location data (only with your consent)

Location data is not stored or retained long-term.

Purpose of processing:

  • access to user account
  • content personalisation
  • navigation and orientation during the festival
  • notifications and updates
  • gamification features
  • analysis and improvement of the app

Legal basis:

  • performance of a contract
  • legitimate interest
  • consent (e.g. notifications, location)

Retention period

  • for the duration of the user account
  • or until you request deletion
