╰┈➤ From 2010 to 2012, the festival continued its tradition of showcasing emerging musical talent.

╰┈➤ In 2009, United Islands of Prague celebrated the conclusion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. Performers and artists from 25 European countries took part, including NoJazz (FR), No Blues (NLD) and many more.

╰┈➤ By 2008, the United Islands of Prague tradition had firmly taken shape, and for the first time the programme began focusing on emerging musical talent – promising new artists with the potential to one day conquer stages around the world. That year’s discoveries included La Shica (ES), N.O.H.A. (CZ) and Orka (FRO). Střelecký Island was overflowing with visitors, and for the first time traffic on the Bridge of Legions was suspended during the festival.

╰┈➤ In 2007, we staged what we thought would be the final edition – and, for the first time, admission was free. Attendance was a great success and we finally found a sustainable model for organising the festival. Artists performing that year included So Cold (Canada) and Peppe Voltarelli (ITA).

╰┈➤ In 2006 came the first, not entirely successful, attempt at a ticketed festival in Prague. Nevertheless, the line-up featured internationally renowned acts such as Placebo, Khalet, Medeski Martin and Wood (US), Tito & Tarantula (US) and Fishbone (US).

╰┈➤ 2005 was the first attempt to establish United Islands of Prague as a recurring festival.

╰┈➤ The first edition of the festival was organised in 2004 by David Gaydečka and Martin Voňka to celebrate the Czech Republic’s accession to the European Union. The event took place on 10 islands, featured 10 different genres and represented all EU member states along the Vltava. Performers included Leningrad Cowboys (FIN), Gypsy Kings (FR), The Levellers (UK) and many more.
