United Islands heads into a new season: winter edition and club nights debut, over 100 emerging artists to perform on Štvanice in spring

United Islands Festival looks ahead to another packed year. The United Islands festival has an exciting year ahead, kicking off unusually early — already in winter. For the first time in its history, the organisers are preparing a winter edition of the festival, set to take place on Wednesday, February 4, at Futurum Music Bar in Prague. Additional club nights will follow in February and March. The main highlight of the year will come from April 30 to May 2, 2026, when the 23rd edition of this traditional multi-genre open-air festival takes place on Štvanice Island in Prague.

Tickets for the club events are already on sale via GoOut. As always, the spring open-air United Islands festival will be free for everyone, but visitors will also be able to purchase voluntary tickets to support the event. More information is available at www.unitedislands.cz.

“It’s great to see United Islands firmly established on Prague’s cultural map. Next year we’ll welcome artists from all across Europe and show them that Czech audiences are among the best out there. And of course, we’ll once again showcase the most exciting new names from the local music scene,” says Martin Štěrba, Executive Director of United Islands.

For more than 20 years, United Islands has been discovering new talent from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and across Europe. Among the standout artists of the 2026 edition will be British indie rock trio Bilk, Luxembourg-based project DasRADIAL, blending dark wave, Neue Deutsche Welle, techno and pop, and Dublin electro-noise band YARD. The Czech scene will be represented by songwriter and producer Toyota Vangelis, experimental rap trio Hihahaholky, and rapper MDMX, well known among rap fans not only for his successful collaboration with Rohony on the album Superfly.

“We’re heading into another year with a powerful line-up. United Islands gives space to bands striving to break through in the music industry. It’s incredible how many projects apply every year — including completely new names that didn’t even exist a year ago. I’m confident there’s plenty to look forward to in 2026,” adds festival dramaturg Michal Nguyen, also known as Gumi.

The first-ever winter edition of United Islands

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the very first winter edition of United Islands will take place at Futurum Music Bar in Prague. The evening will feature live performances by Slovenian band LPS, alongside Czech acts Branko’s Bridge and Čoro Muzikoj. These three projects promise to heat up the audience even in the middle of February. Tickets for the winter edition and other club events are available via GoOut.

In addition to the winter edition, United Islands is also preparing its traditional club nights: in February at Boothill (Prague 2), in March at SubZero (Prague 5), and at the end of April following the open-air programme in various Prague clubs as part of the festival schedule.

New visual identity inspired by Štvanice Footbridge

The festival is entering the new season with a refreshed visual identity inspired by the Štvanice footbridge. The design features a hare, a horse and a bull — three animals from the bridge’s decoration created by sculptor Aleš Hvízdal. These motifs reference the historic hunts once held on the island. The new visual concept was created by the festival’s long-time graphic designer working under the pseudonym Jsem Václav.

Tickets for all festival events are available in advance at www.goout.cz.
