The festivals will make “noise” in front of the Russian Embassy, playing against violence in Ukraine

Members of the United Islands of Prague and Metronome Prague festival teams are commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the unacceptable and inexcusable invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army. They are calling everyone who is not indifferent to Russian aggression to come to the Russian Embassy on the street of Ukrajinských hrdinů on Saturday at 1PM.

The concert "Noise for Ukraine" will take place on Saturday, February 24th starting at 1PM and will last approximately two hours. United Islands and Metronome Prague festivals are joining other civic and cultural activities happening throughout the day on Saturday. The event is part of the Day for Ukraine.

"The special performance placed directly in front of the Russian Embassy on Ukrainian Heroes Street will be a loud expression of our enduring dissent against Russian aggression in Ukraine and the violation of human rights, which we witness these days in live broadcasts. Through this event, we also pay tribute to Ukrainian heroes who have been fighting not only for the freedom of Ukraine but for the freedom of us all for the past two years," says David Gaydečka, producer of the United Islands and Metronome Prague festivals. During the two hours, bands like What's In The Box will perform, accompanied by Russian singer-songwriters Alexej Ušarovský and Nikolaj Jakimov, as well as DJ Negative.

The Noise for Ukraine event is convened by the joint efforts of the United Islands of Prague and Metronome Prague festivals, the Czech Royal Institute, and the Embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Lithuania, Canada, the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Kingdom of Norway. The event was financially supported by the Municipal District of Prague 6.
