The Ragans (CZ)

An international band playing classic rock with influences reaching back to the early days of rock ’n’ roll. The group was formed through the collaboration of an originally Israeli singer (formerly of The Takeoff and The Blackbirds), who performs in the U.S. under the name Rod Ragan, and guitarist Dor Nagar Pavel, with whom he has been playing for several years in the iconic M. Prokop & Framus Five. After releasing the single “No Worries”, they were joined by a drummer — a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Contemporary Music in Birmingham, UK — also known from bands such as Limetall, Maniac, and Mean Messiah, and the brother of Miloš Meier from Dymytry. Expect a surge of pure rock energy, vocal and instrumental maturity, and an original repertoire written not only by Dor but also by two seasoned members of Framus Five, who sharpened their songwriting skills especially on the band’s latest album Ostraka. The set is complemented by classic rock covers from bands popular in the Czech Republic, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Black Crowes, and ZZ Top.
