Iggy Mayerov blend melancholic melodies, reverb-soaked guitars, prominent synth lines, an uncompromising drum machine, and lyrics reflecting on the transience of relationships and the fragility of the soul.
They emerged on the scene in 2019 with the single Ride, which catapulted them into the finals of Radio Wave’s Startér competition and opened doors to Czech and Slovak radio airplay. Since then, their music has regularly featured on Radio 1, Expres FM, Rádio Slovensko, and Rádio FM.
Their debut album Millennial Cliché, released in autumn 2022, included the title track, which Expres FM named among the best pop songs of the year. This was followed by a collaboration with Anděl Award winner Lazer Viking, with whom the band recorded the EP Lovesick. Their lyrics dive into different stages of relationships—from the euphoria of new beginnings and the fear of loneliness to self-worth and the courage to break free from established patterns. The single Givin’ You Up featuring Lazer Viking is accompanied by a music video directed by Petr Vlček, inspired by the aesthetics of Wes Anderson and Karel Zeman, which has garnered over 140,000 views on YouTube.
In May this year, Iggy Mayerov released the new single Feels Like Yesterday, addressing the deeply personal and often overlooked themes of death, loss, and acceptance. The track is accompanied by a music video—once again directed by Petr Vlček—offering an imaginative and visually striking take on the process of letting go. Feels Like Yesterday is the first preview of the band’s upcoming album, set for release in spring 2026 under the production of Jakub Kaifosz, aka Lazer Viking.
The band consists of Tereza Pilařová (vocals, guitar), Michal Pilař (guitar), Jakub Pilař (bass), Martin Griner (keys, synthesizers), and vocalist Alžběta Kuklová. They have played over a hundred shows across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany.
Iggy Mayerov have appeared at festivals such as Beseda u bigbítu, Regiony, United Islands, Mezi Ploty, Budějovický Majáles, and the Ponton showcase organized by Headliner music magazine.
