Claudy Kováčová & Jamas Quartet (SK)

Claudy Kováčová is a young Slovak singer working at the intersection of jazz, soul and R&B. Music is a natural space for her self-expression, and in her interpretation she draws primarily from the aesthetics of American music of the 1980s and 1990s. Her musical world has been shaped by artists such as Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu and Stevie Wonder, whose sense for groove, emotion and expression is also reflected in her own musical direction.

During her career so far, she has performed at the Jazz Divas festival and collaborated with the renowned Czechoslovak big band led by Matúš Jakabčic. She also contributed to the LP Rišo B. together with the well-known Slovak pianist Ľuboš Šrámek and collaborates with the notable ensemble NBS Trio. In the competition Young Faces of Slovak Jazz, she received an award for outstanding vocal performance, confirming her distinctive musical expression and strong sense for genre interpretation.

In the project Claudy Kováčová & Jamas Quartet, her vocal performance meets a young generation of jazz musicians. The band presents arrangements inspired by jazz, soul and R&B, drawing on the groove and atmosphere of classic American soul of the late 20th century.

Jamas Quartet is a student ensemble bringing together musicians from various music schools in Slovakia and abroad. Founded in 2024, the band has gradually appeared at concerts, jam sessions and festival events. Their music combines jazz sensitivity with the energy of contemporary R&B, creating space for authentic vocal expression and improvisation.
