The official United Islands afterparty features Sinden, the star of London underground music
Today, the Unites Islands festival celebrates seven years of bringing you new bands and music trends. This year, we are introducing the official afterparty in the Meet Factory club which will give you the latest trends in contemporary dance music. For all of you who enjoy styles like the electro, bassline, or indie laced with uk funky and remixes of contemporary bands, the United Islands afterparty is a must! Today's hottest music trends will be presented to you by the rising DJ and producer star Sinden, DJ Tvyks known so well to the domestic crowd, two of Czech Republic's most progressive DJs - Felix! and d.MIT.ry. The party will be closed by the famous duo Kay&Tvzex from Sunshine.
DJ Sinden is known for his eclectic sets which introduce funky, house, hip hop, dancehall, and electro - he just doesn't let the audiences catch their breath. He cooperated with Joshua Harvey (aka The Count aka Herve) in the making of The Count & Sinden, a renowned producer duo that has won wide acclaim especially for their single Beeper that scored high in several charts. They have had considerable success with other singles, such as Hardcore Girls or Mega. He also runs his own recording label, Grizzly, where for example the drummer of the famous Basement Jaxx releases his solo project under the name of WAFA.
The domestic headliner is beyond all doubt DJ Tvyks who needed fifteen years of career to become one of the elite of Czech DJing and production. He is a co-founder of Prague's parties Plastique and Boom Bang Baby!. As a DJ he has played in prestige clubs nearly all over Europe. His sets compile the hottest and most modern pieces currently available at the world's music scene. All his inspiration starts at the border between bassline and the electro, with detours to disco punk, house and acid house, all the way to the playful baile funky.
DJ Felix! represents the young Czech DJ generation that is not afraid of new styles: his current sets are full of exclusive electro, discopunk, indie, grime, bassline and all kinds of breaks, fidget house, baile funky, cosmic disco, etc. He has been a resident DJ of the Plastique goes Elastique extravagant party in the Radost FX club; he is also the support DJ for the electro-pop band, Cartonnage. In 2009, Felix! was nominated for the 2008 Dance Music Awards in the DJ of the Year category.
DJ d.MIT.ry launched a new project, Neo Violence, in of 2009; it aims to introduce the Czech audiences to new trends in electronic dance music. Neo Violence is also a regular monthly party that has been organized by the Central Station music club in Žižkov since April. Both dMIT.ry and DJ Felix! are members of Plastique goes Elastique.
Kay & Tvzex, two music-obsessed enthusiasts, quite famous as active musicians in Sunshine band, have decided to turn the DJ dogma and traditional practice upside down, to bring the punk cheek into clubbing. "Maybe those who started the dance parties in Czechia take us for total dabblers because we do not honor the established rules and we can't mix two tracks. We don't have no ambition at all; we wanna bring some good time to ourselves and to all the people who have a say in the music that they play in the clubs around the world."
That is also the mission of the United Islands afterparty: come and put a raving end to this year of the United Islands music festival!
